Greens, and a patch of blue sky

A big timber house with a steep red-brown roof stands in a sunny clearing among the trees. Flowers spill over its wooden balconies, and an outside staircase climbs up from the grass.

The picture is full of greens. Dark branches hang along the top edge, the grass in front of the house is bright with sunlight, and a patch of blue sky and white cloud opens above the roof. Because of those overhanging branches, it feels as though you are standing in the shade of the nearby trees, looking out at the house.

The house in mirror image

The back of the cloth, photographed separately, shows the same house in mirror image, with every change of colour visible. It gives a good idea of how much patient handwork sits behind the finished front.

For a cabin or a kitchen

On the front, the dark brown walls make the small details easy to pick out: pale window frames, balcony rails and dots of red and yellow flowers. Rosi sewed the scene with 100% DMC threads. It would feel at home in a cabin, a kitchen with wooden furniture or any room that could use a sunny day in the mountains.

Its fresh greens are easy to live with every day, and there is only this one.
